This year we have chosen to take a further step. Ai ragaz­zi non was only asked to fill a blank sheet of paper with and recordso per­so­nalebut also of con­di­vi­der­lo attra­ver­so a choral reading rivol­ta to an audience of adults, largely unknown.
The proposal was born on the occasion of decen­na­le of the association: ten years ever since the intuition of two great friends, passionate about kids and culture, was transformed into the great project we call it today Pic­cio­let­ta Barca.

The memories arrived one after the other: long or essential, ironic or emotional, always sincere.

Many, many of them gave space to the memories of our holidays, during which they discovered the beauty of to all play the same game, to eat at the same table, to participate in the same conversation, to sen­tir­si part of a grup­po in which everyone can find their place without necessarily having to asso­mi­glia­re to others.
Multiple loroespecially the little ones, recounted the carefree hours spent at Con­vi­vio: il their first small literary salon, where they were able to meet the great characters of history and literature, even going so far as to take on their roles.
Alcu­ni, for­se the older ones have inve­ce riconosciuto to be stessi the courage to far par­te del­la Pic­cio­let­ta Bar­ca, and to us the value of a path that transformed them: not by offering answers, but by opening questions.

There is a phrase that comes backwith almost natural insistence, in their stories: “The Pic­cio­let­ta Barca is family for us.”
A simple, almost disarming word, which however contains everything that we sometimes struggle to say with other languages.

For us adults, that we accompany this journey, there is no higher recognition. In a time in which bonds often seem fragile and temporary, knowing that young people recognize this place as a home, a safe haven, a space in which they feel welcomed and looked at for who they are, fills the heart with gratitude.
Because, ultimately, everything we build – the meetings, the readings, the holidays, even the organizational effort – comes precisely from the desire to offer children an authentic place in which to grow together.

Cer­ta­men­te, seeing these memories arrive one at a time, has us given great satisfaction, but the real magic manifested itself on the evening of our party.
Tut­ti the memories were carefully printed on colored cards and hung on the walls of our large living room, so that each invi­ta­to potes­se leg­ger­li libe­ra­men­te, lascian­do al tem­po stes­so space also for those among the kids who preferred not to expose themselves in public reading about the now known “stage at the staircase” (which leads to the bathroom).

Deeply moving it was inve­ce the courage of the most timid, who for nothing in the world would have shied away frombeing, for one evening, the spokespersons of a message of sharing, friendship and culture.

There was irony, emotion, improvisation, courage. And above all presence.

Also this year the success of the Fthis of the AMice was insured, and this time more than the others the credit went entirely to our boys: endless applause and eyes full of emotion have once again shown us that our choice to focus on the kids issen­za dub­bio,vin­cen­te.
